The Carousel Port 4.0 comes with a "dual channel" safety chain.
This means that the E-STOP switch as well as the magnet sensor have two separate switches in them.
The safety chain expects both channels to operate with next to no delay. This is used to detect broken switches / wires in the safety chain and increases the users own security.
Since there a no perfect switches and the channel error detected contains a small delay. In a case where one of the channels is missing even after the delay the channel error will be triggered.
Since the channel fault directly relates to a users safety, a retry is not sufficient therefore the interface box needs to be power cycled. To do so, unplug the power cable from the interface box inside the port, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. Put the port safety covers back in place, and push the power button on the port control panel. Wait for the port to initialize (wait for the LEDs to stop blinking), and press the retry button.
After that the channel fault should be solved and the Port should work again.
To avoid this error from frequently happening check if the magnet sensor is installed correctly (distance & positioning).
From experience magnet sensors have a behavior where the two channels may be different if the distance between the magnets is around 10-30mm. If the magnets are left at this distance longer than the delay time allows, a “false” channel error will be detected. The channel error is not false, but it is caused by the properties of the sensor and not a broken sensor or wiring.

Another common root cause of this error is faulty door magnets. The two magnets on either side of the front flap are common points of failure. If the front flap can be moved with minimal force, check the magnets for damage. They may need to be replaced.
